Instructions:
1. Preparing the pan:
• Lightly butter a frying pan or round pan and arrange the whole bananas, side by side, in the bottom of the pan.
2. Preparing the batter:
• In a large bowl, whisk the eggs with the sugar until the mixture whitens and becomes frothy.
• Add the melted butter, milk and vanilla extract. Mix well.
• Gradually incorporate the sifted flour, baking powder and a pinch of salt. Mix gently to obtain a smooth and even batter.
3. Assembly:
• Gently pour the batter over the bananas in the pan, making sure to cover them well.
4. Baking:
• Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (gas mark 6) for 35 to 45 minutes, until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted comes out clean.
5. Finishing:
• Let cool slightly before carefully turning the cake out onto a plate. Serve warm or cold.
